Arcade Enthusiasts Rejoice: The Game Gallery Expands to a Larger Venue in Easton

In the heart of Northampton County, Pennsylvania, gamers are set to experience an enhanced arcade and retail haven. Angel Correa, proprietor of The Game Gallery, is relocating his popular gaming emporium to 60 Centre Square in downtown Easton by March's end. This move marks a significant expansion for the business, which has been a cornerstone of the local gaming community since its inception in 2012. The new location will not only provide more space for retail items but will also reintroduce a beloved feature: a vast array of arcade games. With over 200 arcade cabinets, 16 pinball machines, and nine Japanese-style "candy cabinets," the venue promises an immersive retro gaming experience. Additionally, customers can browse through a diverse collection of video games, consoles, collectibles, and more, all while enjoying the nostalgic ambiance of the 1970s, '80s, and '90s.

Correa established The Game Gallery with a vision to create a space where people could relive their childhood memories and discover new gaming treasures. Initially located at 249 Northampton St., the business quickly outgrew its original premises and moved to a larger space at 315 Northampton St. in the same year. For over a decade, this location thrived, hosting a back room filled with arcade machines that became a favorite spot for many. However, increasing rent prompted another relocation in 2023, this time to 349 Northampton St., where the arcade area had to be sacrificed. Despite this setback, Correa remained committed to finding a new home that would accommodate both the expansive arcade entertainment and the growing retail component.

The new 5,000-square-foot space at 60 Centre Square offers just that. Previously occupied by SmARTivities Showcase, the venue underwent renovations to transform it into a gamer's paradise. The arcade section will showcase iconic titles like X-Men, The Simpsons, and Street Fighter II, alongside rare gems such as R-Type. Pinball enthusiasts can look forward to classics like Dr. Dude and Dungeons & Dragons. For those who prefer classic console games, The Game Gallery will stock a wide range of systems, from Atari to the latest PS5 models. The store will also expand its inventory to include vinyl records, VHS tapes, and trading card games like Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Beyond the retail and gaming experiences, the new location features a loft area designed for events such as card game tournaments and video game fighting competitions. This versatile space can also be rented for private functions, including birthday parties. Correa's ambitions extend beyond Easton, with plans to open additional locations in Bethlehem and Whitehall, further solidifying The Game Gallery's presence in the Lehigh Valley.

The transition to Centre Square signifies a new chapter for The Game Gallery. As the business temporarily closes this week for installation and inspections, fans eagerly await the grand reopening. With its expanded offerings and nostalgic atmosphere, the new venue promises to become a hub for gaming enthusiasts and collectors alike. Visitors can expect an unparalleled experience, blending retro charm with modern conveniences, all within the vibrant downtown Easton scene.
